Concrete, indispensable construction material of our times
High efficiency, flexibility and the possible application in connection with other materials make concrete one of the most often used building materials of today. As versatile as it is in usage, as manifold are the influences, which have inpacts on concrete and steel structures inside and outside.
In order to keep concrete structures going functionally. economically and also visually adequate prortection from local conditions is necessary. Structural and specially composed coating measures give protection from carbon-dioxide, from chloride affection or other other corrosive media. Cracks and damage, which, in turn, increase corrosion, eg. reinforcement, can thus be counteracted.
An examination of concrete foundations is advantageous, amongst other reasons, with regard to their adhesive tensile strength, risk of cracks and their carbonatisation. Especially with supporting structures, control of minimum cover thickness with regard to the reinforcing steel and, possibly, its natural corrosion damage is necessary. Detailed information on the project as well as on chemical and mechanical burdening to be expected belong to the specifications required.
Using minerals in building requires knowledge of their properties as well as technologies for protection, maintenance or prolongation of service life. We accompany your building project, specify and control processing quality and provide individual counseling with objects requiring priority in the following cases:
- atmospheric influences and coloured layout for opticql reasons: facades, fair face concrete, outside building and tank areas
- atmospheric as well as chemical strains: bridges, port and quayside facilities, reinforced concrte steel constructions near towns, industry and the sea
- mechanical strains: industrial floors, car park floors, transshipment points, warehouse floors, traffic lanes
- chemical and medial strains: Tanks and containers of the chemical and the oil industries, storage facilities for chemical products, sewage and waste facilities, containers for drinking water and food, port and hydraulic engineering plants
