The foundation structures of the Niedersachsenbrücke in Wilhelmshaven (in Lower Saxony) are being repaired since May 2017. Niedersachsen Ports plans to renew the coating of appr. 700 foundation piles within a project period of roughly 5 years. Helmut Müller GmbH has been involved in the project since the start of the work regarding the construction accompanying quality assurance as well as further inspection and consulting services in the field of corrosion protection. Again this year another of the five sections will be repaired in the period of April up to September. For the removal of the old coating an induction method is applied, which apart from the consideration of the recurring tidal range and the overall length of the object, makes this construction project so special and demanding.
