Due to the increasing shipping traffic on the Dortmund-Ems-Canal and steadily growing economic areas, it is necessary to modernise the existing waterway connections and to expand these substainably.
In the project „Canal bridge Ems“, the steel trough bridge built in 1935/36 will be replaced by a new double trough bridge. The project, which is demanding from the perspective of the structural engineering and statics, should enable after completion to transit the waterway from both directions.
Company Helmut Müller GmbH was commissioned to monitor the execution of the works accompanying the construction activities in respect to the structural steelwork and the coating works and to be available for advice.
