The “Pier Heringsdorf” is located on the Baltic island Usedom in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and it is with its length of 508 meters the longest pier of this kind in continental Europe. The construction is a sea bridge which is built on 56 steel piles across the Baltic Sea (appr. 4 – 6 m). The establishment and the initial coating took place in the years 1994 and 1995.
The Helmut Müller GmbH was commissioned to determine the current state of the corrosion protection and to accompany the necessary rehabilitation works in terms of planning and quality assurance.
