The “Pier Heringsdorf” is located on the Baltic island Usedom in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and it is with its length of 508 meters the longest pier of this kind in continental Europe. The construction is a sea bridge which is built on 56 steel piles across the Baltic Sea (appr. 4 – 6 m). The establishment and the initial coating took place in the years 1994 and 1995.
The Helmut Müller GmbH was commissioned to determine the current state of the corrosion protection and to accompany the necessary rehabilitation works in terms of planning and quality assurance.
With the closure of the last Saarland pit, the mine site Saar, the coal mining practiced for decades was stopped in 2012. In order to preserve the mining tradition in the Saarland region, the landmark “Das Saarpolygon” was erected. Serviced and maintained by the supporting association, the Förderverein “BergbauErbeSaar e.V.”.
The Helmut Müller GmbH accompanied and supported the Berlin architectural duo “pfeiffer sachse” (founded by Katja Pfeiffer and Oliver Sachse in 2011) and the association BergbauErbeSaar e.V. at the planning and implementation stage in the field of corrosion protection.
The Helmut Müller GmbH looks positively back on the participation in this year’s world’s leading wind energy exhibition in Hamburg.
The exhibition days were characterized by a strong influx of trade visitors and interested parties, by intensive discussions and furthermore by an excellent business climate as a major success. (more…)

In Hamburg, the expansion of the A7 is in full progress. The unique and technically demanding major project includes the extension of the traffic lanes and a comprehensive noise protection consisting of tunnels and walls.
The Helmut Müller GmbH is commissioned, to carry out inspection services at traffic bridges and at noise protection elements in the course of a construction-accompanying quality assurance around the topic corrosion protection. As an experienced company in the field of corrosion protection, we are at the disposal of the general contractor „ARGE A7“on an advisory basis.

Under the heading “Piping – Innovative Construction and Rehabilitation Techniques”, the Institute for Pipeline Construction (short: “iro”) is inviting all interested parties for the 32nd time for an exciting series of lectures to Oldenburg.

Also in January of this year, the corrosion protection conference accepted within the trade will once again offer a comprehensive conference all around the issues of corrosion protection in the field of the maritime technology.
The practice-oriented presentations of the selected speakers serve the participants as knowledge transfer, presentation of new developments and technologies as well as initiation for an exciting exchange of experiences.

The offshore wind farms existing or planned in the German North Sea are located in a great distance to the coast. In order to transport the electricity generated at sea with a minimum loss onshore, the use of so-called transformer stations and high voltage direct current transport platforms (HVDC plat-forms) is required. Since these structures are exposed to high corrosive stress in their areas of appli-cation, corrosion protection plays a significant important role for these structures. (more…)
